People living near the banks of Buddha Nullah told their grievances to Sant Seechewal

Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal on the instructions of Honorable NGT, especially visited the habitants living near the banks of Buddha Nullah. Whereas the discharge of chemical mixed contaminated waters has affected the residents of Ludhiana city there also it has made the lives of the residents of the area of river Sutlej. A meeting was held at 10  AM at the Gurdwara Sahib at Guru Nanak Nagar near the banks of Buddha Nullah ,in which Sarpanch of the adjoining areas participated, Guru Ram Dass Nagar Taj Pur road, Noorpur Bet, Guru Nanak Nagar, Bahamian Kalan Sarpanch whereas told the problem of contaminated waters and smoke and ash from the chimneys there also a demand letter signed by thousands of people was also given to Sant Balbir Singh Ji. Baba Ji assured that your problem will be put before National Green Tribunal and we will request for an early solution to your problems.

At 11 AM a programme was organised at historical Gurdwara Gau Ghat Ludhiana, here also sangats of area in large numbers gathered and they also handed over a signed complaint cum demand letter concerning Buddah Nullah pollution to Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal.  The garbage jammed under the different bridges of Buddha Nullah  was also seen which was causing hindrance in the flow of water and was also creating problem in the discharge of water in the low lying areas of the city, this whole thing was shown to the officials of Ludhiana Nagar Nigam. Whereas Buddah Dariya with its chemical mixed water is polluting the city there also solid waste in large quantity is falling in it. That is creating a big problem in its flow. 

At 1 PM Sant Balbir Singh Ji met the Sangats at Gurdwara Sahib at village Baranharha here the people told him that their village is very much distressed socially, financially and due to environment pollution, they also showed the over flowed water of Buddha Nullah, in village Ballon ki due to non functioning of motors of sewerage treatment plant the sewerage was over flowing in the fields and water has gathered in large quantity in the crops and garbage was spread all around. A written complaint about their problems was given to Baba Ji by the villagers. The villagers also let him know about the spreading of black jaundice, cancer and skin diseases and continuous  increase in the patients.

Noon at 2 PM the people of village Gauspur met Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal at the bridge of Buddha Nullah and here the residents of village Salempur met Sant Seechewal with a written letter and they told that the pollution of Buddha Nullah has spread on large scale and nearby Paper(gatta) mills and sheller industries are discharging smoke and ash, their homes are being blackened badly. They complained about it to Baba Ji and Baba Ji let it known to the SDO PPCB who had accompanied him and requested him to find immediate solution to the problem. Residents of the villages also informed about the increase in the patients of black jaundice, cancer and skin diseases etc.

Noon at 3 PM Baba Ji met the Sangats of village Walipur Kalan, here the Sarpanch and Panch of nearby villages had come, the villagers told that there are 72 patients of black jaundice and cancer and skin diseases are also spreading on large scale in the area, here near this village Buddha Nullah merge into Sutlej river and that scene is quite painful as this contaminated waters through Sutlej river reach Malwa and Rajasthan. At all places Baba Ji were honored and the sangats told him that he was their only hope for overcoming their miseries at earliest. Baba Ji assured them that their letters of problems will be sent to Honorable NGT and Health Minister Punjab. On this occasion Xen. Nagar Nigam and officers of Punjab Pollution Control Board were also present.
