Padma Shri Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal, Eminent Environmentalist at Indo Global College of Architecture during National Conference


National Conference “Comprehensive Village Development - Feasibility & Sustainability” was organised by INDO GLOBAL COLLEGE OF ARCHITECTURE, ABHIPUR near New Chandigarh on 23rd February, 2018.


The conference was attended by more than 350 delegates comprising of Architects, Planners, Engineers, Heritage Lovers, environmentalists, NGO’s and Government Agencies and students of Architecture and Engineering

Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal, Eminent Environmentalist  was the chief guest and Dr. Gurdev Singh Gill-President, India Canada Village Improvement Trust and Sh. P.L Kaler- Former Principal Chief conservator of Forests, Punjab were the Guests of Honour.


Ar. S.S. Sekhon, Director of the College welcomed the delegates and delivered the key note address. He said that it is universally recognized that every human being has a right to live with dignity. Since insanitary conditions of our villages violate the human dignity especially of women, so the facility of underground sewerage system and restoration of ponds is of paramount importance.
He showed the glimpses of the work done in various villages of Punjab which he visited last month and said that his visit to village Seechewal and Village Chakar were like a pilgrimage to a sacred place.


Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal said “Where there is a Will there is a Way”. He called upon the professionals and students to come out of their shells and spread into villages to serve with full commitment and dedication. A video film was screened by him on this occasion showcasing the ‘Seechewal Model’ adopted for the development of his native village Seechewal.
