water of the Kala Sangian Drain is worth for farming

Lover Padma Shree Sant Balbir Singh Seechewal Ji asked for the farmers to use
the treated water of the Kala Sangian Drain for farming. Today, he held the
meetings especially with the farmers of the villages situated on the banks of
the Drain. Sant Seechewal apprised of the farmers of the villages Chamiara, Gurdwara
Tahli Sahib and Gurdwara Teer Sahib about the improvements in the water of the Kala Sangian Drain. He
said that when on 22nd February 2008 a bundh on Kala Sangian Drain, with the
cooperation of the people was enforced then its water was quite dirty. Same way
in 2011 again bundh was enforced on the Drain then the affected people of
Rajasthan had also participated.
Sant
Seechewal Ji told that under this pressure of the people, the Punjab government
had installed 50 MLD treatment plant at
Basti Peerdaad. He told that now poisonous water of Leather Complex is not
falling in the Kala Sangian Drain. He said now the water of the Kala Sangian
Drain is clean upto 80%. He said that by using this water for farming, the
underground water and fertilizers can be saved.
Namberdar
Dilbag Singh of Fatehpur told that he has been using the Drain water for
farming for the last 4 years and his fertilizers cost has declined. Same way
the farmer Iqbal Singh told that he has been using drain water for his fields
for the last 5 years. As compared to past now the water is giving less bad
smell and the water is more than 80% clean.
On
this occasion Sant Baldev Krishan Singh, Sant Gurmej Singh, Sant Sukhjit Singh,
Sarpanch Gurmeet Singh, Ex Sarpanch Mohan Singh, Sarpanch Joga Singh
Chakchelan, Sarpanch Harwinder Singh of village Gillan Charanjit Singh from
Gurdwara Tahli Sahib, Heera Singh, Pala Singh and other farmers were also
present.
